Hold me now, warm my heart, stay with me, let loving start

You're not going to believe this anti-socialites, I've never put anything on hold before. That's weird isn't it? I'm usually like "See. Want. Try. Fall into a pit of despair after seeing my reflection. Buy". I showed restraint, I was controlled, JUST KIDDING, I didn't have enough money for it! I would've walked out with it in a heartbeat if I could.

It's this absolutely gorge skirt from MYER by Princess Highway, their website is down for construction BUT it's pretty close to this skirt from Zara, just a bit darker. Man, I can't wait for it to be all over my body. I know that sounds creepy but it's true. I'm picking it up before university on Thursday so if you happen to catch my train don't be alarmed if you see a petite brunette girl stroking a leopard skirt and mumbling "I want you all over me" - I'm not referring to you unless you're particularly good looking.
Also, I bought these goodies the other day or rather my boy bought them from me to cheer me up as the essay I was working on was turning me into a savage stress monster.

Target - $19 And it has a pussy bow! Love!
Part of me suspects that the only reason my boy bought me this was becaue it was see-through. Sorry, sweetie, I'll be wearing something under it! These pictures do it no justice though, it's such a nice deep plum. It's a size 8 but looks MASSIVE but tucked into a highwaisted skirt it'll look divine and flowy!
I also got this luxe oversize ring with a built-in mirror. Which is great since I always forget a compact! It was on sale at Forever New for $5-$6 dollars. I love the detail with the filigree around it. I'm not sure I'd pay the full RPP of $13 though, but that's just because rings like this turn my fingers green after a couple wears.

Coming up short...

Its official the world has been turned UPSIDE DOWN. Go on, look outside your window. It’s alright. I can wait. Did you see? Up is down, down is up and birds wear sassy footwear. Everything has changed.
Okay, so I might be acting a tad over dramatic right now but you can’t blame me. I, a coveter of all things sweet and delicate am seriously considering in investing in a pair of leather shorts this winter. I’m even second guessing about whether to tell my boyfriend about this interesting addition to my wardrobe. He’ll feel the need to take my temperature and insist that it’s some temporary madness but is it that weird? I’m not going out and buying a pair of bondage dominatrix-y leather shorts, although, knowing some guys that may be more acceptable.
I feel like I’m on the verge of this massive self-esteem crusade, as if I’m on the brink of finding something that’s a true reflection on me and to be honest it’s frightening. I’m thinking outside the very small box that I styled myself in of things that were ‘safe’. I want to take risks. I want that freedom, but what price does that freedom have?
I don’t know what it is about leather but whenever I wear it I become a fearless bastard. I avoid confrontation at the best of times, to the point where I can be pushed off a train and apologise to the pusher. There’s no use pussy footing around it, I’m a coward. But not in leather.
Well, would you look at that? The restaurant got my order wrong. LEATHER POWER ACTIVATE KA-BOOM!

She just short changed me! LEATHER A GO-GO *non-sexual thrust*

Bumped into a stranger. Mentally: Look at the shorts, look at the shorts. You cannot deny thy leather. Result: Stranger apologises and I ride away on the back of a unicorn into the sunset. THAT’S what leather does...

Sharpen your claws ladies, Catwoman is in the house!

I told you I’d be back! Deadlines and all. Because that, basement lurkers is how much you mean to me...
--------------------------------------------------------
Anyone who knows me will know that I love anything Batman and most Batman fans should know that Catwoman is the babiest babe who ever babed and we should all emulate her in her awe-inspiring babeness but come on, who can wear that much leather? Apart from the cop from The Village People – no one. So anytime the universe decides to throw me a bone and lets me in some way channel Catwoman is always going to be a good day. And that’s exactly why I was so happy to see all these cat eye glasses. It’s like being Catwoman but without the chaffing. Now that’s a beat we can all dance to.

And why stop there? Why not throw some leopard print into the mix? Oh, yeah. I just want to play with a ball of yarn right now – remember folks, it’s only too much leopard print when you start spouting a tail up until then, it’s all kosher.

I've Been A Bad, Bad Blogger

It's true and I should be punished as such, I hereby allow you to punish me by watching re-runs of The Nanny until my eyes bleed and I cry for mercy. I'm just about to head into my third week back at university, time flies when your soul is owned by Cicero, Suetonius and Tacitus. Anyway, over the next few weeks I'll be completly re-doing this blog - some posts may be deleted but will be replaced with some delicious, fantastic, mind-blowing awesome ones. You know, not to set expectations TOO high. There'll be outfit posts and a couple regular features. Bear with me, it shan't be long till we, internet lurkers, are reunited.

Inspiration: Back to School

For those of you keeping track of your Australian tertiary education my university, Macquarie, goes back in a month. This is my second year, although since I only do 3 as opposed to 4 units a semester I'm still a first year student. I'm far too excited about it - I'm literally counting down the days. I honestly miss studying, my degree requires a lot of research and there's no better feeling than when researching for a major paper finding a definitive source in whatever dusty tome you find on the shelf and saying to yourself 'Aha!' and feeling like you've just discovered something amazing.

One of my favourite looks that I'm longing for in my wardrobe is one of a vintage school girl. A simple navy A-line skirt - with some satin details and a silk blouse with a pussy bow. Perfection. I'm obsessed with blouses right now, by the way. Is there a rehab for that?

What I love about the look is that it's simple, structured, feminine and can be worn in any season.

An Education - How have I NOT seen this movie? It looks like absolute perfection!

What are your thoughts? What accessories would you pair this look back with? Leave any and all feedback.

Spotted: Where My Money Will Be Going This Week

Dotti - Musky Betsy Brogue AUD$49.95

I found these shoes at Dotti, and absolutely fell in love with them! I'm hoping to pick up a pair next week (fingers crossed there's a 7 waiting for me!) I've never been too keen on brogues, but the scalloping and the peachy cream colour is a great feminine translation of a masculine classic. Perfect Spring/Summer shoe. Teamed back with floral prints and a chiffon blouse with a delicate pussy bow this might just be my go-to look when classes commence at MQ in a month. How would you wear it? Let me know!
Cotton On - Brandy Pleat Skirt AUD$34.95

This skirt is a bit of a miracle find. Remember the damage my brand new chambray skirt took that led to a complete self-esteem breakdown blog post? This might just be it's replacement. Whilst Cotton On isn't known for it's quality either I think it'll have a longer life span than that SES number that's taking space up on my bedroom floor.

Spotted: The Perfect Winter Maxi

I've been browsing through a lot of vintage sites tonight, it's almost 3.30am here in Sydney as I write this but I just had to share this with you all.

Even though it's Summer and almost 40 degrees during the day here (Celsius, folks) I am doting over this vintage knit cocktail dress, paired with a leather jacket and some rock and roll accessories this would make for a great winter maxi-dress.
